Reflexology stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, by clearing blockages and re-establishing energy flows, to support the body to balance itself
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy based on the principle that your whole body is reflected on the feet, hands, face, or ears. Reflexologists apply pressure using thumb, finger, and hand techniques to precise reflex points corresponding to organs, glands, other parts, and body systems. Reflexology charts show how the body is ‘mapped’ onto the feet, hands, face, or ears.
Why reflexology?
Are you constantly tired? Do you have a sore back? Perhaps you have stomach upsets (ulcers or indigestion) or high blood pressure. Are you prone to headaches? Do you feel unable to cope?
People come to a reflexology treatment for a range of reasons. Some are aware of the profound relaxation that reflexology generates and the immediate benefit from lowering stress levels. Some know from experience that reflexology helps to manage symptoms from a known health condition. Some just feel ‘not quite right’.
How can reflexology help?
Reflexology can be helpful for a wide range of conditions including:
- Stress, anxiety and depression
- Headaches and migraines
- Back and neck pain
- Symptoms associated with cancer and cancer treatment, and stroke
- Constipation and other digestive issues
- Respiratory conditions.
