About Rae Torrie
I qualified as a reflexologist over 20 years ago, completing a year-long Certificate of Reflexology, and have been a professional member of Reflexology New Zealand since then. I love receiving reflexology myself – feeling that I am ‘healing from the inside out’ – and love to give it to others. I am still sometimes amazed at what the feet tell us, and the changes that people experience.
I am curious and love to learn so embrace new reflexology developments and books and integrate these ideas into my practice. I regularly attend conferences and post-graduate workshops, for example maternity reflexology, cranio-sacral reflexology, chi reflexology, and reflexology lymph drainage. When you come to me for treatment I delve into this toolbox to focus my treatment.
I am fascinated about how reflexology works. In a parallel life I have worked in research and evaluation where tracking change and finding evidence about ‘what works’, are core skills. I bring this attention to reflexology – not only in noticing and recording the changes that clients experience, but also seeking to understand the types of reflexology that work best for different conditions, and what it is that makes the difference.
I recently moved to Paekākāriki from Wellington, and established my practice here in July 2024.
